The Yamaha DSU50 is a uniquely designed drum microphone created specifically to capture the natural sound of an acoustic drum kit. Mounted on the bass drum hoop and facing the player, it delivers a clear, wide stereo image of the entire kit with an incredibly simple setup.

A single DSU50 is enough to produce a clean, professional drum sound for rehearsals, live performances, recording, monitoring, or streaming. For greater detail—such as enhanced cymbal clarity or a wider room image—adding a second DSU50 expands the stereo field without the complexity of multiple individual microphones.

When paired with the Yamaha EAD50 module, the DSU50 allows effects processing and hybrid performance by layering triggered sounds over the acoustic signal using triggers or pads. This makes it an ideal solution for live shows, streaming, and music production.
